IocTober Day 16 - Outside motion detector
We’re creating an IoT solution for every day of “IocTober”.
Was that a car entering the garage you heard? Did you imagine hearing a knock at the door? Do you come home after dark and fumble for your keys wishing you’d remembered to leave the porch light on?
Here we have a battery powered motion detector that communicates via wifi. It remains in power-sipping “deep sleep” mode until the motion sensor activates, then it sends a message.
It’s up to you where to route the message. Deliver it to your building automation system, if you have one. Feed it to If This, Then That, or to Slack, or the useful Pushover notifcation app on your phone.
